ADMISSION PROCESS

Please ensure you take time to pray, get in contact, and gather all the information you can before beginning the admissions process.

DISCOVER

We encourage you to learn as much as you can about King Alfred Academy!  Info nights are a great opportunity to meet our headmaster, hear our vision and ask questions about the academy.  Check out the event calendar for the next one!

DECIDE

Once you have decided to enroll your child(ren), apply by completing the Enrollment Package.  Submit via email (info@kingalfred.ca), mail to King Alfred Academy, 1373 Lobsinger Line, Waterloo ON, N2J4G8, or bring in person.

DISCUSS

Schedule a family interview with our headmaster, Randy Frey, to discuss whether our academy is the right fit for your family. Parents (if applicable) and student(s) are to be present. We will contact you after receiving your Enrollment Package.

ENROLLMENT PACKAGE

Please submit the following:
1. The Enrollment Application
2. Read our Statement of Core Family Values and Doctrinal Statement
3. Submit copies of most recent report card (if applicable)
4. A non-refundable application fee of $200/family, plus applicable late fees, refer to Tuition section below.  (Make cheque payable to “King Alfred Academy”)
*KAA may deny acceptance at any point during the admissions process when it becomes apparent that KAA will not be a suitable environment for a particular child or family.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

King Alfred Academy holds the following expectations for parents/guardians and students:

  • Both parents/guardians should have a clear understanding of the biblical philosophy and purpose of KAA.  They are to have read to the Doctrinal Statement, Statement of Core Family Values and sign the Statement of Affirmation.
  • The parents/guardians should be willing to cooperate with all the written policies of KAA. This is most important in the area of discipline, school work standards, and conflict resolution, as well as active communication with the respective teacher(s) and administration.
  • At least one parent is an active member in good standing of an evangelical church.
  • Students entering Junior Kindergarten must be 4 years old by December 31. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required as proof of age for every incoming student JK-Grade 8.
  • Students will be evaluated in reading, writing and mathematics to assess their current stage of learning.

Enrollment Packages Due

Late Fees Begin

May 1

Enrollment opens annually on March 1 and enrollment packages are due by April 30.  Packages received after April 30 will be assessed an additional $50 late fee for each month past April 30 to a maximum of $200 for applications received after August 1. Late fees will be added to the enrollment application fee.
